Teen Escapes Drive-By Gun Attack Outside His Center Street Home: Police

A Joliet teen was targeted in a drive-by shooting as he took out the garbage Monday night, police said.

The teen was taking outside his home on Center Street near Smith Avenue about 9:30 p.m. when a car—possibly an Impala or Malibu—came down the alley and he heard about a half dozen shots.

The teen dashed into his garage to escape the gunman. While taking cover, he heard a car door slam and a vehicle drive off. The young man then emerged and called the cops.
