The Timbers of Shorewood Rings in Christmas With Ballroom Dance
Chicagoland seniors are invited to cut a rug at The Timbers of Shorewood.

Anyone who loves the music of the Big Band era is invited to a “Christmas Ballroom Dance” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at retirement community, 1100 N. River Road.
The Jay Mau Orchestra will provide the music of the Big Band era. This 10-piece band has been tempting couples onto the dance floor at 35-40 gigs a year, The Timbers being a favorite.
“Jay plans an interesting mix of music to dance to — foxtrots, waltzes, cha-chas, and all the rest,” said Shelly Goggins, activities director at The Timbers of Shorewood. “It should be a wonderful event. The Timbers will be all decorated for the holidays.”

Mau would later find his way to real instruments, a seat in several bands, and his ultimate beat as leader of his own orchestra.
