11 Shoplifters Steal Jackets; Public Indecency Reported: Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Skokie Police Blotter from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

INDECENCY
Someone exposed their genitals to a person in the 5400 block of Touhy Avenue around 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 23.

HOME BURGLARY
A residential burglary was reported in the 5000 block of Greenleaf Street in Skokie between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 26.

ATTEMPTED HOME BURGLARY
Between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 26, someone broke a window at a door in the 4900 block of Greenleaf Street but did not enter the home.

ROBBERY/SHOPLIFTING
Seven people stole merchandise from a store at Old Orchard Center around 1:22 p.m. on Sept. 28, and one person tried to snatch someone's purse. No arrests were made.

BURGLARY
A burglary reportedly occurred between 6 p.m. on Sept. 28 and 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 in the 5300 block of Cleveland Street.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone pried open the rear sliding door of a home between 1 p.m. on Sept. 28 and 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 in the 9000 block of Knox Avenue and ransacked the house.

RETAIL THEFT
Staff at the Bloomingdale's at the Old Orchard Shopping Center reported that 11 people ran into the store and stole three jackets in about 40 seconds for a loss of more than $2,800.

ARRESTS

Brian E. Ford, 35, of the 6000 block of West Touhy Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 9 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the 7400 block of Frontage Road on a warrant from out of state. He was also charged with driving without a valid license and obstructing identification.

Cyriac P. Lukose, 64, of the 8900 block of Kilbourn Avenue in Skokie, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. on Sept. 25 in the 8600 block of Gross Point Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Trayan S. Milushev, 31, of the 200 block of Forestway Drive in Northbrook, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Old Orchard Shopping Center and charged with retail theft.

Alfredo Manzo, 47, of the 4300 block of West Irving Park Road in Chicago, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the Walmart at 3626 W. Touhy Ave. and charged with retail theft.

Kimberly Montoya, 19, of the 2000 block of West Birchwood Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the Walmart at 3626 W. Touhy Ave. and charged with retail theft.

Gustavo A. Barahona-Rivera, 28, of the 8800 block of North Root Street in Niles, was arrested at 3:18 a.m. on Sept. 27 in the 8100 block of St. Louis Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Michael J. Tomczak, 67, of the 7800 block of Niles Center Road in Skokie, was arrested at 3:36 a.m. on Sept. 28 at his home on an in-state warrant.

Kashif K. Aslam, 28, of the 7200 block of North Ridge Boulevard in Chicago, was arrested at 7:16 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 5300 block of West Touhy Avenue on an in-state warrant.

Jack Chatman, 61, of the 10500 block of South Hale Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 8900 block of Bronx Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.
