2 Stolen Cars Flee Police On Southbound Edens Expressway: Blotter
Arrests for forgery, aggravated battery and eluding police on the Skokie Police Department blotter from Sept. 18 - Sept. 24.

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
CAR BURGLARIES

- Three locked cars had their windows smashed while parked in the 5200 block of Touhy Avenue between about 5 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 17, stealing two purses and a wallet.
- Someone stole a backpack from inside a parked car between 9 p.m on Sept. 16 and 10 a.m. on Sept. 17 in the 5500 block of Mulford Street.
- Someone ransacked a car and stole coins from inside between 10 p.m. on Sept. 16 and 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 17 in the 9700 block of Karlov Avenue.
IDENTITY THEFT
An incident of identity theft and deceptive practices was reported on Sept. 17 in the 8100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue. Someone registered a vehicle with the Illinois Secretary of State's Office office between March 1 and 21.
STOLEN CARS FLEE
Two stolen vehicles involved in a reported aggravated assault fled police between 2:15 and 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 19 on the southbound Edens Expressway. One of the drivers reportedly swerved into the lane of a Skokie police officer who had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

BURGLARY
A reported burglary took place in the 8000 block of McCormick Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 19.
PHONE COMPANY SCAM
A Madison Street resident reported on Sept. 19 that they had received a call several days earlier from a person claiming the resident owned money to the phone company and needed to make a payment using gift cards.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY/TRESPASSING
An incident of aggravated battery and criminal trespassing to a vehicle occurred in the 3300 block of Dempster Street around 11 p.m. on Sept. 21.

ARRESTS
Marvell D. Thompson, 23, of the 6100 block of North Winthrop Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road on two active in-state arrest warrants.
Jose L. Soto, 33, of the 4900 block of Church Street in Skokie, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the 8000 block of Lincoln Avenue and charged with assault.
Moshe Z. Nudelman, 20, of the 8600 block of Hamlin Avenue, was arrested at shortly before 11 a.m. on Sept. 19 at his home and charged with eluding police and reckless driving after reportedly fleeing from officers in the 8600 block of Niles Center Road.
Eleanor S. Graver, 65, of the 400 block of Downes Drive in Great Lakes, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. on Sept. 20 and charged with retail theft at the Old Orchard Shopping Center.
Maria A. Patino, 61, of the 7200 block of North Hamilton Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 20 and charged with retail theft at the Goodwill Store.
Richard A. Barrett, 21, of the 0-100 block of Butterfield Road in Warrenville, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. on Sept. 19 in the 4800 block of Oakton Street on an in-state warrant and also charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Jaalen J. Banner, 20, of the 2000 block of Brummel Street in Evanston, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the 3300 block of Dempster Street and charged with aggravated battery, causing great bodily harm, in connection with an incident a few minutes earlier.
Irene L. Molina, 33, of the 4800 block of West Hutchinson Street in Chicago, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with forgery in connection with incidents between July 2 and Aug. 15 in the 4700 block of Golf Road involving $6,422.98.
Susan A. Hartford, 52, of the 8000 block of North Ottawa Avenue in Niles, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the 5700 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.
Cristobal Flores-Guerra, 22, of the 4300 block of Oakton Street in Skokie, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the 3200 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.
Osiel Lopez-Garcia, 27, of the 8600 block of Central Park Avenue in Skokie, was arrested at 1:49 a.m. on Sept. 24 at his home and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, domestic battery and resisting police in connection with an incident earlier that night.
Brian Eugene Ford, 35, of the 6000 block of Touhy Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 9 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the 7400 block of Frontage Road on an out of state warrant. He was also charged with obstructing identification and driving without a valid license.
