• Skokie Police Shoot Man Armed With Butcher Knife With Rubber Bullets (patch.com) — Skokie residents saw a tense scene Tuesday night when police used rubber bullets to subdue a man armed with a butcher knife during a reported domestic dispute on Lorel Avenue. Officers say they tried multiple de-escalation tactics as the man allegedly threatened to kill them and appeared in mental health crisis, eventually transporting him to a hospital and urging bystanders to keep a safe distance in future emergencies.
