Armed Robbery Reported; Old Orchard Shoplifter Had Drugs: Blotter

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

HOME BURGLARY
A resident of the 4800 block of Hull Street reported at 8:47 a.m. on Aug. 17 that someone had broken into their 1st-floor apartment and stole a game console and jewelry.

THEFT
A resident of the 8300 block of Kilpatrick Avenue reported on Aug. 17 that someone had stolen a bicycle.

IDENTITY THEFT
A McCormick Boulevard resident reported on Aug. 17 that someone had use their social security number.

INDECENT EXPOSURE
A pedestrian in the 8900 block of Skokie Boulevard reported that a young man pulled down his shorts and exposed his genitalia to her while she was carrying groceries.

HOME BURGLARY
A residential burglary was reported that someone had broken into a home in the 9200 block of Skokie Boulevard between 4 p.m. on Aug. 17 and 3:41 p.m. on Aug. 18.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE/DISORDERLY CONDUCT
During an argument over damage to property around 10:27 a.m. in the 4600 block of Main Street, the person whose property was damaged disturbed or alarmed the person who reportedly caused the damage.

ASSAULT
A motorist reported around 3:32 p.m. on Aug. 19 that someone had tried to strike her while driving in the 3300 block of Howard Street.

PREDATORY SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man was accused of sexually assaulting a family member, in 2010 in the 4800 block of Louise Avenue and in 1996 in the 7700 block of East Prairie Road.

ASSAULT
An assault was reported at a restaurant at the Old Orchard Shopping Center around 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 20.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
An aggravated assault was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 21 in the 8000 block of Oakton Street.

ASSAULT
A man reportedly pushed his wife and threatened to "get" her and his father-in-law around 12:15 p.m. in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
A person known to police held and pointed a knife at a woman between noon and 5:49 p.m. on Aug. 21 in the 4900 block of Oakton Street, causing her to fear for her safety.

STOLEN CAR?
A resident reported on Aug. 22 that their landlord had their vehicle towed, but the towing company reported they had never been contacted for a tow.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 9000 block of Lavergne Avenue reported on Aug. 22 that someone had stolen their wallet between 3:39 and 5:31 p.m. that day and used ther credit cards at stores.

FORGERY
Simone forged a signature to obtain a vehicle from Sherman Dodge in the 7600 block of Skokie Boulevard around 6:42 p.m. on Aug. 23.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 3500 block of Lake Street reported between 10 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 4 a.m. on Aug. 24 someone got into their home through an open window and stole electronics and credit cards.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A patron of a store in the 4900 block of Dempster Street reported at 11:37 a.m. on Aug. 24 that someone had asked her to expose herself to him inside a retail establishment.

STOLEN CAR
A motorist reported their car was stolen from the 8200 block of Niles Center Road between 9 and 11:17 a.m. on Aug. 24.

ARMED ROBBERY
An armed robbery was reported in the 8800 block of LaCrosse Avenue between 11:15 p.m. and midnight on Aug. 24. A man with a gun reportedly robbed two people of cash and a small amount of marijuana outside of an apartment building. No arrests had been made as of Sept. 4.

THEFT
Someone stole a cellphone from inside a bag left unsecured in a field house at a high school in the 5700 block of Oakton Street.

RETAIL THEFT
A pair of shoplifters were reported around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 at the Walgreens in the 9100 block of Skokie Boulevard. One was described as a 5 foot, 9 inch to 6-foot-tall white man between 170 and 200 pounds and 25 and 35 years old with short blonde hair and multiple tattoos on his face, arms and legs and wearing a gray shirt and red shorts. The other was described as a 5 foot, 7 inch to 5 foot, 9 inch white woman between 150 and 170 and also between 25 and 35 with long ark year and wearing a black tank top and with black and white shorts and a light colored bag.

STOLEN CAR
A resident in the 9300 block of Weber Park Place reported that someone stole their vehicle and wallet between 9 p.m. Aug. 26 and 7:21 a.m. on Aug. 27.

THEFT
A resident of an apartment building in the 9700 block of Woods Drive reported on Aug. 27 that someone had stolen an Amazon package that had been delivered to the mail room in his building between 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 10 p.m. on Aug. 19.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Ridgeway Avenue resident reported on Aug. 27 that someone had stolen their identity and used it to open up multiple credit cards. The victim noticed there were other unauthorized transactions on existing cards between 6 p.m. on July 31 and 6 p.m. on Aug. 17.

ARRESTS

Jamarra White, 21, of the 8500 block of South Cicero Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. on Aug. 21 in the 9400 block of Raymond Avenue and charged with armed robbery in connection with an Aug. 13 incident.

Paulina Maciantowicz, 30, of the 800 block of Oakton Street in Elk Grove Village, was arrested at 7:36 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 5400 block of Monroe Street on an active in-state arrest warrant. She was also issued citations for driving an uninsured vehicle with a suspended license.

Millard L. Missick, 31, of the 600 block of Hull Terrace in Evanston, was arrested at 4:06 p.m. on Aug. 23 at the Old Orchard Shopping Center Macy's and charged with armed violence, possession of a controlled substance and retail theft.

Alicia S. Smith, 37, of the 1900 block of West Washington Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. on Aug. 21 at the Old Orchard Shopping Center and charged with burglary, theft and identity theft.

Robbie E. Moore, 55, of the 7300 block of North Damen Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the 7600 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with two counts of identity theft.

Alvin A. Morales Merced, 32, of the 100 block of North Sangamon Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the 3400 block of Dempster Street and charged with retail theft.

Paris M. Christian, 27, of the 4100 block of West Carroll Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:05 a.m. on Aug. 24 at the Mariano's, 3358 W. Touhy Ave., and charged with aggravated battery and retail theft.

Stephanos A. Baslaal, 23, of the 800 block of Leclaire Avenue in Wilmette, was arrested at 8 a.m. on Aug. 24 in the 9600 block of Lawler Avenue and charged with robbery and credit card fraud, and Javier A. Summers, 21, of the 6600 block of North Ashland Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 9:49 p.m. on Aug. 25 in the 8000 block of Oakton Street and charged with robbery and credit card fraud. Both men are accused of snatching the purse from a woman at the parking structure of the Nordstrom at Old Orchard Shopping Center on the morning of July 21 before racking up about $900 worth of bills on her credit cards at outlet stores in Rosemont.

Alexis Dorantes, 21, of the 2000 block of North La Crosse Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with retail theft.

Lawrence A. Herbert, 24, of the 5500 block of North Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 5:03 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the Old Orchard Shopping Center Macy's and charged with retail theft after reportedly stealing two items.

Eva Anan, 42, of the 1400 block of South Canal Street in Chicago, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 25 at the Macy's at Old Orchard Shopping Center and charged with retail theft and possesion of a controlled substance after stealing a large amount of merchandise.

Nicholas C. Lykins, 22, of 900 block of Church Street in Glenview, was arrested at 10 a.m. on Aug. 26 in the 9500 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with two counts of possession of controlled substance and one of possession of drug equipment.

Anurag Singh, 41, of the 12300 block of South Cicero Avenue in Alsip, was arrested at 3 p.m. ln Aug. 27 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with theft.

Jerome T. Graham, 33, of the 4200 block of Oakton Street in Skokie, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 and charged with retail theft.
