Assaults Reported; Homes Burglarized; Gnome Damaged: Blotter

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

SEXUAL ASSAULT
An incident of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the 4900 block of Church Street between 3 and 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 was reported on the morning of Aug. 31.

GARAGE BURGLARY
Someone broke into a detached garage in the 7800 block of Keystone Avenue between 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 8:50 a.m. on Aug. 31.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
An aggravated assault reportedly occurred at a hotel in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road around 6 p.m. on Aug. 30.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY
A domestic battery to a senior citizen was reported in the 7900 block of Keystone Avenue at 3:50 p.m. on Aug. 31.

'RUSE' BURGLARY
A resident in the 8600 block of Drake Avenue reported that someone burglarized their home sometime between 2:30 and 3 p.m. on Sept. 1 after a man asked her to step out of her home and walk around to the front.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone burglarized a home in the 4700 block of Russett Lane between 9 p.m. Aug. 29 and 4:26 p.m. on Sept. 1.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone damaged a garden gnome in the 9200 block of Kilbourn Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 30.

SEXUAL ASSAULT
A criminal sexual assault was reported in the 7400 block of McCormick Boulevard between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 1.

ARRESTS

Adewale Ademosu, 39, of the 7600 block of North Paulina Avenue in Chicago, was arrested on Aug. 30 in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with retail theft.

Sarah Lynn Esau, 29, of the 2300 block of West 35th Street in Chicago, was arrested on Aug. 31 at the Skokie Police Department on a warrant for obstructing identification.

Bobby Gene Shrewsbury. 59, of the 4200 block of North Damen Avenue in Chicago, was arrested on Aug. 31 and charged with retail theft at the Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.

Omar Nieves Hernandez, 37, of the 6200 block of North Talman Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. on Aug. 31 in the 7100 block of Crawford Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.

Cleophus A. Williams, 44, of the 1400 block of Grey Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. on Sept. 1 in the 10000 block of LaCrosse Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.

Travis W. Spicer, 23, of the 1900 block of West 21st Place in Chicago, was arrested at 3:49 p.m. on Sept. 1 in the 4800 block of West Dempster Street on an in-state warrant.

Hanna Hanna, 19, of the 6400 block of North Washtenaw Avenue in Chicago, and Yousif Naisan, 19, of the 6400 block of North Mozart Street in Chicago, were arrested at prior to 4 a.m. on Sept. 3 at the Skokie Marathon, 8001 block of Skokie Blvd., and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Hanna was also charged with possession of drug equipment.

Mark A. Vigan, 34, of the 7200 block of North Kenneth Avenue in Lincolnwood, was arrested at 2:38 a.m. on Sept. 3 in the 7800 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.

Emma Jean Findley, 37, of the 9300 block of South Chicago Avenue in Chicago, was arrested on Sept. 4 in the 4800 block of Old Orchard Road on an in-state warrant.

Milena Bozovic, 21, of the 5700 block of North Sheridan Road in Chicago, was arrested on Sept. 4 and charged with retail theft from the Walmart at 3626 Touhy Ave.
