Dealership Finds Truck Missing, Car Stolen By Forgery: Blotter

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
HIT & RUN
A dark-colored SUV was suspected of striking a parked car in the 4800 block of Oakton Street around 7:40 a.m. on March 23, police were told on April 3.

SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole four medical books from the Old Orchard Barnes & Noble shortly after 9:30 a.m. on April 2.
RUSE BURGLARY
Someone claimed to be the son of a former roofer who worked on a house in the 3800 block of Isabel Street talked their way into the house and stole multiple items from the bedroom between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on April 2.

BATTERY
A parent of a former student at the Noor Learning Center in the 3900 block of Oakton Street reportedly battered a person there between 6 a.m. on April 2 and 12:56 a.m. on April 3.
HOME BURGLARY
Someone broke into a home in the 5300 block of Enfield Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 9:54 p.m. on April 3.
CAR BURGLARIES
Burglaries to vehicles or attempted burglaries to autos were reported at the following locations and times.
- 4300 block of Emerson Street between 12:04 and 12:42 a.m. on April 3
- 9400 block of Drake Avenue between 10 p.m. on April 2 and 8:04 a.m. on April 3
- 9500 block of Drake Avenue between 11 p.m. on April 2 and 8:41 a.m. on April 3
- 9400 block of Lincolnwood Drive between midnight on April 3 and 9:41 a.m. on April 3
- 9300 block of Lincolnwood Drive between 7:30 p.m. on April 2 and 3:50 p.m. on April 3
- 9300 block of Lincolnwood Drive between 10 p.m. on April 2 and 10 a.m. on April 3
- 9200 block of Forestview Road between 6 and 7 p.m. on April 3
- 4600 block of Madison Street between 9:30 p.m. on April 3 and 7 a.m. on April 4
- 8200 block of Ridgeway Avenue between 10 p.m. on April 7 and 7:04 a.m. on April 8
- 9000 block of Bennett Avenue between 11 p.m. on April 7 and 1:19 p.m. on April 8
- 9100 block of Ewing Avenue between 5 a.m. on April 7 and 1:30 p.m. on April 8
AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO A CHILD
An incident of aggravated battery to a child in the 8200 block of Elmwood Street that occurred at 11 a.m. on April 4 was reported by the Department of Child and Family Services that afternoon.
HOME BURGLARY
A residential burglary was reported in the 300 block of Keating Avenue around 1:44 a.m. on April 5.
BAD CHECK
Someone tried to cash a bad check at a business in the 4800 block of Golf Road around 4:20 p.m. on April 5. He was described as a 6-foot, 4-inch white man with blond and gray hair with moustache and a limp. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a black hood and blue jeans. He was last seen headed west in a white Chevy sedan, possibly an Impala or Malibu.
BATTERY
Someone was hit and kicked by someone known to them in the 5100 block of Galitz Street between 7 and 7:10 p.m. on April 5. Police did not indicate if anyone was arrested as a result.
CAR STOLEN BY FORGERY
Someone used false information to buy a car from a car dealership in the 7600 block of Skokie Boulevard between July 2016 and January 2018. It was reported on the morning of April 6. The dealership also reported a truck was removed from its storage lot by unknown means.
PACKAGE THEFT
Someone stole packages from the front door of a home in the 7500 block of Kolmar Avenue on March 14 and April 4, police were told on April 6.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident of the 9200 block of Central Park Avenue reported between 3:45 and 7:30 p.m. that someone had broken into their home.
STOLEN CAR
A car was reportedly stolen in the 9300 block of Morgan Avenue between 8 p.m. on April 7 and 7 a.m. on April 8.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a car from the 8200 block of Ridgeway Avenue around 9:51 a.m. on April 8.
ARRESTS
Albert E. Youkhana, 29, of the 9100 block of Niles Center Road, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. on April 2 in 500 block of Wilson Terrace and charged with violation of an order of protection and possession of a weapon without a valid firearms owners identification card.
Jacqueline M. Dunn, 43, of the 1900 block of Foster Street in Evanston, was arrested at 10:18 a.m. on April 3 at the Skokie Courthouse, 5600 Old Orchard Rd., and charged with two counts of retail theft.
Eric D. Longberger, 25, of the 12000 block of South Lasalle Street in Chicago, was arrested at 7:53 p.m. on April 5 at the 5600 block of Old Orchard Road. Eddie Bauer and charged with retail theft and obstructing justice. Police said he and another man stole two jackets from the store.
Leonard Smith, 71, of the 9700 block of Woods Drive, was arrested at his home around 8 p.m. on April 5 and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, possession of between 10 and 100 grams of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.
Antonio Lewis, 29, of the 3500 block of Mallard Way in Antioch, California was arrested at 11:13 a.m. on April 6 at the Cook County 2nd District Courthouse at 5600 Old Orchard Road and charged with burglary, identity theft and possession of another person's credit, debit or identification card.
James Young, 42, of the 9000 block of Lamon Avenue, was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. on April 3 in the 9300 block of Kostner Avenue and charged with burglary from a motor vehicle in connection with an incident reported about 20 minutes earlier in the 4300 block of Emerson Street.
Hari Prasad Khanal, 44, with no address given, was arrested at 10:22 p.m. on April 6 in the 8200 block of Kenneth Avenue on an in-state warrant.
Robert G. Vega, 35, of the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. on April 9 in the 8300 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Aluyssa N. Thompson, 23, of the 4800 block of North Merrimac Avenue in Chicago, and Caile Ryan Schumacher, 23, of the 5500 block of North Mango Avenue were arrested at 8:30 p.m. on April 4 at the Walmart in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with retail theft.
Jade K. Mercado, 36, of the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. on April 8 at the Skokie Walmart and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment.
Lashawon Howard, 51, of the 900 block of Lawrence Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 1:24 p.m. on April 9 in the 5100 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and two counts of resisting police.
Maurice L. Porter, 58, of the 8200 block of Keating Avenue, was arrested at his home at 11:45 p.m. on April 7 and charged with assault.
Banyameen Y. Odeesho, 67, of the 8200 block of Kilpatrick Avenue, was arrested at 1:07 p.m. on April 8 in the 4800 block of Oakton Street and charged with retail theft.
David S. Barak, 22, of the 500 block of Skokie Boulevard in Wilmette, was arrested at the Skokie Police Department and charged with disorderly conduct.
