'Disturbance' At Portillo's Prompts Charges: Skokie Crimes

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN CAR FOUND
A car that had been bought using fraudulent information from an Indiana BMW dealership was found in the 7100 block of Carpenter Road shortly before 4 p.m. on Feb. 19.

HIT-AND-RUN
A motorist crashed into another driver in the 4900 block of Church Street around 5:10 a.m. on Feb. 18 and ran away on foot.
STOLEN TIRES
Police found a vehicle that had all its tires removed in the 7500 block of Keeler Avenue during the overnight hours of Feb. 19-20.

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT
Someone used a fraudulent identity to try to get a car loan from a business in the 7600 block of Skokie Boulevard between Feb. 14 and Feb. 16.
BOMB THREAT
Someone called the Skokie Police Department to report a bomb threat at Niles North High School at 9800 Lawler Ave. around 2:16 p.m. on Feb. 21.

SMASH-AND-GRAB
Five suspects inside a stolen silver Honda crashed into the front of the Best Buy store in the 5400 block of Touhy Avenue around 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 22 and stole numerous items.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A Niles West student told a classmate that he had a gun in his backpack. No gun was found and the juvenile was cited for disorderly conduct.
CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT
A criminal sexual assault was reported in the 5200 block of Oakton Street on the morning of Feb. 22.
HOME BURGLARY
A residential burglary reportedly occurred in the 8700 block of Ridgeway Avenue between 2:30 and 8:08 p.m. on Feb. 24.
ARRESTS
A 32-year-old Evanston man was arrested at 12:29 a.m. on Feb. 19 in the 7900 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving with a suspended license.
Fatima Jameel, 29, of the 7300 block of North Kilbourn Avenue, Lincolnwood, was arrested on Feb. 20 at 3:59 p.m. at the Old Orchard shopping center and charged with retail theft.
A 37-year-old Evanston man was arrested at 9 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the 4000 block of Dempster Street and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Eric D. Clausen, 31, of the 2200 block of Central Road, Glenview, was arrested at 12:58 a.m. on Feb. 22 in the 7600 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08. He was also cited for possessing of a small amount of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
Kanza Aamir, 19, of the 6000 block of North Rockwell Street, Chicago, and Harshaba Laghirsinh Chudasama, 22, of the 5400 block of North Sawyer Avenue, were arrested shortly after 5 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Walmart in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with retail theft.
John D. Gabrail, 34, of the 5200 block of Davis Street, Skokie, was arrested at 5:21 p.m. on Feb. 22 at his home and charged with retail theft.
Alan B. Binder, 63, of the 4700 block of Church Street, Skokie, was arrested at 11:35 a.m. on Feb. 23 in the 9300 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with criminal trespassing, battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting and battery to police after allegedly causing a disturbance at Portillo's.
Keith A. Miller, 37, of the 4900 block of Lunt Avenue, Skokie was arrested at 11:15 p.m. on Feb. 23 at his home and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of battery.
A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 3:24 a.m. on Feb. 24 in the 3300 block of Dempster Street and charged with driving with no valid license.
Aliah Imani Hamler, 23, of the 7200 block of Munson Way in Sacramento, California was arrested at 5:40 a.m. on Feb. 24 on an out of state warrant in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue.
Edgar G. Guzman, 24, of the 1400 block of Snowberry Lane, West Chicago, was arrested at 2:38 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center.
Dale Andrews Desean Davis, 33, of the 9400 block of Bay Colony Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road and charged with public indecency.
Erick Patino, 20, of the 9600 block of Kostne Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 3 a.m. on Feb. 25 in the 9600 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and traffic offenses.
A 28-year-old Evanston man was arrested at 12:20 a.m. on Feb. 26 in the 3300 block of Main Street and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Francis P. Lazar, 46, of the 8400 block of Central Park Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 26 in the 4000 block of Main Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
A 30-year-old Skokie man was arrested at 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 26 in the 4100 block of Oakton Street and charged with possession of drug equipment.
Jeremy A. Starling, 27, of the 1600 block of East Thacker Street, Des Plaines, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the 4900 block of Conrad Street and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
Nathan R. Palmer, 18, of the 9110 Lawler Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Skokie Courthouse and charged with theft of less than $500 worth of property.
A 33-year-old Evanston man was arrested at 8:52 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the 8300 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving without a driver's license.
