NILES WEST THEATRE PRESENTS “THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK”

Niles West Theatre presents a powerful new adaptation of “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Wendy Kesselman on October 18 through 20 in the Black Box Theatre at 5701 West Oakton, Skokie. Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, “The Diary of Anne Frank” captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence—their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. This is a new adaptation for a new generation.

Performances are 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students, senior citizens and children. Call the Box Office at (847) 626-2633 or go to www.nileswesttheatre.com. A free community performance will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 18.
