• Skokie officials re-up, advance video-gaming talks; public input up next (therecordnorthshore.org) — Skokie's Village Board is moving forward with exploring whether to allow video gambling terminals in local restaurants and bars, and plans to seek public input later this fall. Officials estimate the machines could bring in between roughly $140,000 and $800,000 a year, while trustees and staff weigh potential social costs, enforcement demands, and how any new revenue might support village debt and services.
