11-Year Old Boy Targeted In Auburn Gresham Kidnapping Attempt

A man in a red car pulled up to a home at 84th and Vincennes and told the boy his mother sent him.

CHICAGO, IL - A man approached and tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy who was standing in his front yard around 8 p.m. Sunday night in Auburn Gresham. A community police alert says the boy was told by an offender in a red car that his mother told him to come get him and take him to the store.

Police said the boy did not recognize the man and ran inside the house located in the 8400 block of South Vincennes Avenue as the offender fled the scene.

No description of the offender was available other than that he is a black man.
