11-Year Old Girl Among 2 Wounded In Drive-By Shooting

Gunfire from a car near 117th and Perry in the Pullman neighborhood struck two young girls walking on the block.

CHICAGO, IL - An 11-year-old girl was shot in the chest in one incident of gun violence in Chicago over the long Labor Day weekend. Chicago police say someone in a white car fired shots at two young girls late Sunday night in the Pullman neighborhood.

The victims, a 17-year-old girl and the 11-year-old, were standing outside in the 11700 block of South Perry Avenue at 10:25 p.m. when the car drove by.

The shots struck both the victims. The 17-year-old was taken to Roseland Hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the right hand and elbow while the 11-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

No one was charged over the weekend in connection to the incident.
