2 Children Injured In Englewood Arson Fire, 1 Critical
Officials say someone threw an incendiary object in the back of the Englewood home, when a man and five children were inside.
CHICAGO — A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition from smoke inhalation after an apparent arson fire late Sunday evening, officials said.
A man and five children were inside the residence in the 6100 block of South Carpenter in the Englewood neighborhood, where a fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. The man and the four other children were able to escape, but the 4-year-old was still inside.
Chicago firefighters rescued the boy from inside the home. The child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition. Another child, a 9-year-old boy, suffered from smoke inhalation and also transferred to Comer, where he was reported in good condition.
