9-Car Rollover Crash Results In No Injuries

Two of the three drivers involved in a crash that involved nine cars on 55th Street fled the scene late Wednesday night.

CHICAGO, IL - Nine cars, three driving and six parked, were involved in a crash on 55th Street in the city's Gage Park neighborhood late Wednesday night.

The crash was caused by the driver of a Chevy Sonic, who was speeding while heading west on 55th Street in the 3000 block around 11:05 p.m. and crossed over the medium into oncoming traffic, police said. The driver, a black woman according to police, sideswiped a Hyundai driven by a Hispanic man who was also heading west and a Chevy Trailblazer driven by a Hispanic man heading east.

Both cars that were sideswiped lost control and struck several parked cars on the street. The Hyundai rolled over as a result of the crash and the Chevy Sonic also lost control and struck a parked car, according to police.

No one was injured in the crash. Both the drivers of the Chevy Sonic and Hyundai fled the scene on foot.
