Acquaintance Discovers 2 Men Dead In South Side Apartment

CHICAGO — Two men were found shot to death in an apartment on the South Side late Monday evening. Chicago police said both men appeared to have been shot in the head.

Around 11:15 p.m., police said an acquaintance went to the 900 block of 80th Street to check up on the men because they hadn’t been heard from for a while. The acquaintance discovered both men deceased inside the apartment.

One of the victims was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as 36-year-old Cordero D. Gladney. His death was attributed to a gunshot wound in the head and ruled a homicide. The other man’s name has not been released.

It is not known when the deaths occurred, and no one is in custody. Chicago Police Area 2 detectives are investigating.
