Bank Robber Shot After Heist In South Chicago: FBI

A security guard shot a bank robber who fled the MB Financial Bank with more than $4,000 this week, according to an FBI complaint.

CHICAGO, IL - A Chicago man who is suspected of robbing a bank in the South Chicago neighborhood earlier this week has been ordered detained by a federal judge. The FBI says Kinta Harris, 35 was arrested shortly after robbing the MB Financial Bank at 3030 E. 92nd St. and getting shot by a bank security guard on Monday.

Witnesses at the bank told FBI investigators that Harris walked in to the bank and up to a teller around 9:13 a.m. with a wig on and a crumpled piece of paper that read "robbery." He left with more than $4,000, including bait bills, after telling the teller he had a gun, according to an FBI complaint.

The FBI says that before Harris left the bank, he was confronted by a security guard who told him something to the effect of "give it back," referring to the money given to him by the teller. Harris is then alleged to have responded with something to the effect of "you can't stop me" and bolted out the door.
