DUI Patrol Plans Crackdown In Englewood This Weekend
Chicago police officers will be out looking for drunk drivers in Englewood and surrounding neighborhoods Friday night.

CHICAGO, IL - The Chicago Police Department's weekly "DUI Saturation Patrol" will be back on the South Side tonight and Saturday night, with crackdowns planned in both the Englewood and Grand Crossing neighborhoods. Roving police officers will be placed in the 7th District tonight and 3rd District Saturday night in hopes of catching drunken drivers in the act.
The patrol will be in Englewood from 7 p.m. Friday night until 3 a.m. Saturday morning. It will move to Grand Crossing from 7 p.m. Saturday night until 3 a.m. Sunday.
According to Chicago police, the purpose of this program is "to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations."
