Kim Foxx to Speak at Mother's Day Peace Celebration in Englewood

A peace march will follow the State's Attorney hopeful's address at Kennedy-King College Saturday.

CHICAGO, IL - Democratic Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, the presumed successor to Anita Alvarez, will be the guest speaker at this year’s Mother’s Day Peace Celebration planned by the Englewood Portal at Kennedy-King College.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 7 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Kennedy-King Auditorium at 740 W. 63rd Street.

A peace march with the Kennedy-King drum line will follow the event on 63rd Street.

According to the event’s website, the peace marc is “a day to connect, celebrate and educate mothers about the important role they play in making the world a better, more peaceful place.”

The Englewood Portal is described as “a digital tool for residents and organizations to tell their own story , to share the latest events and news happening in Greater Englewood.”
