Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run At 79th And Cottage Grove
The driver of a car that fatally struck a man in Chatham fled the area after dragging the victim for blocks.

CHICAGO - A man was killed early Tuesday morning while walking near a busy intersection in the Chatham neighborhood. Police say they responded to the 7900 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue around 3:10 a.m. and found that a car struck the man on Cottage Grove and continued moving with the victim underneath for blocks while headed northbound on Cottage Grove and then eastbound on 79th Street until it reached Dobson Avenue.
The victim was pronounced at the scene but not immediately identified.
The driver of the car fled the area.

Chicago police later said two vehicles were involved in the fatal crash. One is a Ford Focus and the other a Nissan Altima.
