Shots Fired At Car On Dan Ryan Expressway
Traffic in the outbound lanes on the Dan Ryan was closed in the area of the shooting Wednesday morning.

CHICAGO, IL - A car on the Dan Ryan Expressway shot struck by gunfire in the outbound lanes early Wednesday morning. The shooting was first reported around 5:30 a.m. between the 71st Street and 79th Street exits on the I-90/94 expressway, according to multiple media reports.
The portion of the expressway near where the shooting occurred was closed to traffic for more than an hour, but all inbound lanes remained open to morning commuters heading downtown.

It wasn't immediately known whether anyone was injured in the shooting.
The southbound express lanes were diverted to local lanes at 47th Street and then all traffic is being diverted off the Ryan at 63rd Street, according to WGN traffic reporter Sarah Jindra.
