Teen Injured In Fireworks Accident On East Side
A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after suffering "severe facial trauma" in a Thursday night accident.

CHICAGO, IL - A teenager has suffered "severe facial trauma" in a fireworks accident police say occurred on Chicago's East Side Thursday night. Police found the wounded 14-year-old boy around 8:05 p.m. in the 10800 block of South Avenue G near the Indiana border.
The teen was lighting a firework when it exploded in his face, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago, where he's listed in critical condition.
An update on his condition had not been released as of Friday morning.
