Virgin Mary Image Appears in Tree at Southeast Side Church
Catholics have been making their way over to St. Kevin Church in South Deering to see what some are saying is a call to "pray for peace."

CHICAGO, IL - A tree at a Southeast Side Catholic Church is the latest location for a Virgin Mary sighting.
Several parishioners at St. Kevin Church at 10509 S. Torrence Ave. first saw a white, 3-D-like image engraved in the trunk of a tree that sits on a grassy lot at the church during a special mass last weekend celebrating the church’s 135th anniversary, according to the Times of Northwest Indiana.
Parishioners are convinced the image resembles The Blessed Virgin Mary.

Since the initial sighting, Catholics have been flocking to the tree in the city’s South Deering neighborhood to get a look for themselves.
“I can totally see the face and actual formation, it’s pretty impressive,” one woman told NBC-Chicago.
Another believes the image appearing is the Mother of God “telling us to pray for peace in our world.”
