Blue Goose Faces Financial Struggles, Asks for Help
"...we can't make it without you," Blue Goose Market owner Paul Lencioni said.

ST. CHARLES, IL — "The Goose" is in financial trouble and is asking the community for help. Blue Goose Market owner Paul Lencioni made a public announcement outside the store, 300 S. Second Street, and shared it on the Blue Goose Facebook page regarding their financial woes. Lencioni asked for residents to share with their neighbors and those new to St. Charles, who had never heard of the Blue Goose, what they love about the local grocery store.
"We've been trying our best to earn your trust and show we are here for you by taking great care of our neighbors and trying to earn your business," Lencioni said. "But we are not making it work. I'm asking humbly for you to help us by believing that we are here for you and to trust us with your grocery business. Because we will not survive without you as a customer."
In an effort to keep up with the ever-changing grocery business, the Blue Goose has faced challenges. Lencioni said the grocery store recently opened a wine bar to try and keep up with the times and "bring the community together," and will soon offer delivery and pick-up services.

He pointed to the quality at Blue Goose as a reason to shop local at the store. He added that Goose employees "are physically down at the market at 2 a.m. hand selecting the best produce daily." The chefs in the Blue Goose deli prepare fresh meals for pick up for customers to take home, he said.
"We are a team of great people here at the Blue Goose who absolutely love St. Charles and we have been trying with all our heart, fighting hard to make Blue Goose great for our community," he said.
