ST. CHARLES, IL — The Blue Goose Market will "likely" close this weekend.

The exact date has not been set, and store officials say the official closing depends on "how inventory holds up" at the beloved St. Charles grocery store.

Currently, discounts up to 50 percent are underway. The Blue Goose Market, located at 300 S. 2nd St., has been in St. Charles for 94 years.

Last month, Paul Lencioni, owner of the Blue Goose Market, announced the store would shutter its doors for good. The store first opened in 1928 and is known by local residents as "The Goose."

"The Blue Goose has given St. Charles everything it has to give," Lencioni said in a video message posted Friday on Facebook.
