Gas line ruptured in Campton Hills

Campton Hills, IL; A gas line rupture caused Fox River & Countryside Fire to close Route 64 and LaFox Road this morning.

According to an official release from the Fire Department, while construction workers were working in the area, a worker struck and ruptured a 4-inch gas line, causing a gas leak.

One worker was treated for minor injuries and released.

Local businesses we evacuated, such as two nearby preschools. This incident occurred near Campton Square.

As per Nicor Gas, they are working to repair the gas line, and expected to have it done by 3:30 pm today.

Residents are still advised to stay inside, and away from the gas line area unless your needing to travel.
