Red Gate Bridge Gets First Phase Approval; Some Residents Wary of Advance (REPORTS)

The first phase of the Red Gate Bridge project in St. Charles was approved by the City Council Tuesday night.

This initial work phase is expected to not exceed a cost of $1.65 million, according to a Kane County Chronicle article. 

Members of the community group Concerned Coalition for Sensible Spending voiced concerns, including one about the city securing more money from the state for the project ahead of construction, according to a Daily Herald article.

Construction is expected to begin at the end of the month, according to the Daily Herald article dated July 6.
