St. Charles-Area Easter Egg Hunts Worth Checking Out

We've got a roundup of where to hunt for eggs, attend breakfast with the bunny or go on a "bunny train ride" in the coming weeks.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Easter is right around the corner, and there will be plenty of events happening in and around St. Charles for local families to check out in the coming weeks.

We've included a roundup of local Easter egg hunts, Breakfast with the Bunny events and more that you may want to register for or stop out to in the coming weeks:

April 1

  • Easter Egg Hunt: A free Easter egg hunt will be held for children 9 years old and younger at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Avenue in St. Charles, starting at 10 a.m. on April 1. Those stopping out should arrive to the park at least 15 minutes early to receive instructions and make your way to the designated egg hunt age group location. Participants are asked to bring their own baskets to collect the eggs. Registration is not required.
  • Dog Egg Hunt: The dog egg hunt will run from 2 to 3 p.m. on April 1. The cost to attend is $5 per dog and those interested in signing up can register here. There will be plastic eggs filled with treats for doggies to collect and an opportunity for residents to get a picture of their pet with the Easter bunny. Several pet-friendly vendors will be on site, and all dogs must be kept on a non-retractable leash (with a maximum length of six feet). The pups must also be current on all vaccinations, visibly wear tags and be accompanied by at least one person who is over the age of 16 years old.
  • Easter Bunny Train Ride: Windy Acres Farm, 37w446 Fabyan Parkway, Geneva, will be hosting bunny train rides on April 1, 2, 7 and 8. The cost is $11 per child and $6 per adult. Those stopping out can take the Choo-Choo Egg-press Train and visit with the farm's lambs and goats. There will also be an egg hunt, a craft corner for kids and a local artisan craft market. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 2, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 7, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 8. Tickets can be purchased online here.

April 5

  • Breakfast with the Bunny: Breakfast with the Bunny will be held on April 5 at Alexander's Cafe 64 I St. Charles. Those stopping out can decorate their own bunny-face pancake and enjoy a breakfast that includes sausage, decorating supplies, fruit, juice, coffee and water. You can get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, create a special craft and wrap it all up with the Bunny Hop. Ages 11 months and under are free and participants, ages 1 to 6 years old, must be accompanied by a paying adult. One adult may accompany multiple children from the same household. The cost is $18 per person to attend, and tickets can be purchased here.

April 7

  • Flashlight Egg Hunt: A flashlight egg hunt and hike will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hickory Knolls, 3795 Campton Hills Road in St. Charles, on April 5. Those interested in signing up can do so here. Those stoping out should bring a flashlight to help them search for treat-filled eggs along the trail. All ages welcome.

April 8

  • Underwater Egg Hunt: An underwater Easter egg hunt with the Easter bunny will run from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. on April 8. Those stopping out can join the bunny for a swim and hunt for Easter eggs in the shallow end of the pool. Parents will be able to help small children and after the event, they can stay, swim and take photos with the Easter Bunny until 2 p.m. Registration is open through March 31 and the cost is $10 per person.
  • Easter Egg Hunt at Wasco Nursery Center: The egg hunt will run from 9 to 10 a.m. at Wasco Nursery, 41 W781 IL-64, St. Charles. Eggs will be hidden throughout the greenhouses and garden center and prizes will include candy, spring flowers and Wasco Nursery gift cards. Egg hunts will be split into the following age groups: 2 to 4 years old, 5 to 8 years old and 9 to 12 years old. The cost if $5 per child to attend.
