St. Charles Brewer Competes At Great American Beer Festival

Beer makers from around the state, including one from St. Charles, will head to Denver hoping to take home gold.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles brewer is competing this week at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. At the Thursday through Saturday event, the brewers will be competing for gold, silver or bronze medals and the coveted “Brewer of the Year” title.

Now in its 40th year, the festival will feature more than 2,000 beers from 500 breweries, including 16 breweries in Illinois. Among them is D&G Brewing in St. Charles. Beers from the local brewer that are up for awards include Archangel Red, California OJ, Kolsch, Level C Cleic, Rust Belt Rye
