Volunteers Sought To Plant Hundreds Of Trees At Forest Preserve
Volunteers are needed to help plant trees at Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve in St Charles on April 22.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is asking local residents to help volunteer to plant hundreds of trees as part of an Earth Day celebration in April.
Volunteers are needed to help plant trees at Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve in St Charles on Saturday, April 22, at 9 a.m. All are welcome, and forest preserve district officials plan to plant hundreds of trees in a few hours and are looking for as many helpers as possible, according to news release from the forest preserve district.
Holes will be pre-dug, and volunteers are needed to plant the tree, tamp down dirt, add water and mulch, according to a news release. Volunteers will need to arrive promptly at 9 a.m., and planting will continue until all trees are in the ground or 12 p.m., whichever comes first.

This volunteer opportunity is perfect for individuals or groups, families, scouts, youth groups or other organizations. Those stopping out are welcome to plant a single tree, or stay and plant as many as you like.
You can bring work gloves if you prefer, and if you are coming with a group of 10 or more you are asked to contact the volunteer coordinator at 630-762-2741 or email CleaveRobb@kaneforest.com to register.
