On Tuesday, October 5th, FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) students from District 228's Bremen, Tinley Park, Hillcrest, and Oak Forest High Schools gathered eagerly on the Tinley Park High School football field. Planned by FCCLA teachers, the students knew that they were about to participate in a day-long event called Student Body.

According to the FCCLA website, "The Student Body program helps members learn to make informed, responsible choices for their physical and mental health while also providing opportunities to teach others. The teen years are an ideal time to establish healthy attitudes and habits to last a lifetime, which is why Student Body gives members the facts and incentives they need to build a healthy body."

Roughly 122 District 228 students participated in Student Body on October 5th. They participated in yoga/meditation, learned about healthy eating, participated in workouts and relays, and heard from speakers such as Mickey Smith from Clean Eatz and Ashley Conklin from the Culinary Arts Department at Joliet Junior College.
