Helicopter to Help Put the 'Air' in 'Air-Conditioner Repair' (Updated)
Crestwood contractors will use the propeller aircraft Thursday morning to remove and replace rooftop units at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center.

UPDATED (8:17 a.m. Thursday, June 20): Includes link to video of helicopter in action.
With the helipad off of 183rd Street, Tinley Park can be quite the hub for helicopter traffic.
All that aerial maneuvering, however, can make some residents a bit nervous that a fugitive manhunt is under way or that the U.S. government is training for a domestic invasion.
That's why it's a good idea to give people a heads up, literally, when choppers might be buzzing the village skies on much more mundane missions.

That's the case Thursday morning when Dynamic Heating and Piping, a heating and air conditioning company based in Crestwood, will be using a helicopter to remove and replace rooftop air-conditioner units at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center.
Crews will begin prep work, which includes rigging the units for the lift, at about 6 a.m. at the rec center, said company spokesman John Bergamini, who also lives in Tinley Park. The helicopter will land around 7 a.m. in the grassy area south of the Bettenhausen center to refuel, he added.
The entire operation should only take about 20 minutes, Bergamini said.
