PHOTOS: Styx & Foreigner Sail Into Tinley Park
Summer isn't over just yet. Styx and Foreigner's summer tour came to Tinley Park over the weekend.
It was 'The Best of Times' in Tinley Park on Saturday night when juke box heroes Foreigner, along with Chicago-formed Styx, brought their summer tour to the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.
Styx and Foreigner have been on the road since June with special guest John Waite, on what they dubbed the “Renegades and Juke Box Heroes” tour.
Oak Lawn Community High School’s advanced choir, better known as Ancora, also joined Foreigner on stage for their encore of 'I Want to Know What Love Is' after winning a contest through 97.1 FM The Drive.

John Waite opened the show before Foreigner took the stage. Foreigner played a 10-song set plus a drum solo, before Styx headlined the evening with a 13-song set.
There was no shortage of energy from either band, which is impressive from groups that have been around for half a century; or in Styx's case, over 50 years.

Saturday’s show in Tinley Park was at the end of the trio’s summer trek. Their final show is August 28th in South Dakota. After that, the bands will part ways and continue the year with shows on their own around the country.
Foreigner will be returning to Illinois with Loverboy on September 25th for a show in Peoria, IL.
Although Styx doesn’t currently have any Illinois shows on their schedule, they will be in nearby Kalamazoo, MI with John Waite on October 8th.
