Racist Graffiti Scrawled on Park Picnic Pavilion: Police

The graffiti has been removed from the pavilion but some remained on a table.

Racist graffiti was scrawled on the picnic pavilion at the park near Hilda Walker Intermediate School.

An employee of the Frankfort Square Park District notified police to the graffiti last week and told them it had been discovered by a school janitor.

The park district employee then reportedly accompanied a police officer to the scene of the crime. There, the officer found “KKK” spray-painted on the pavilion “along with a rope in the shape of a noose on the back wall,” police said.

The employee “advised that he reported graffiti to the same pavilion last week which he had already covered up,” police said.

The most recent incident of vandalism has also been eradicated but racist graffiti remained on a park table.
