A plethora of new one-day classes are available this spring at Moraine Valley.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Spring registration is open now for non-credit classes at Moraine Valley Community College. New courses being slated for February and March provide insight into bitcoins, selling on eBay, project management, smart phone photo basics and more.

These courses are just a sampling of the many new non-credit classes offered through Corporate, Community and Continuing Education at Moraine Valley, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. Class-goers can hone career skills, learn a new hobby, pursue a passion or increase their knowledge of a topic of interest. Find these courses on the college’s main campus in Palos Hills.

The Beginner’s Guide to Selling on eBay -- Ready to do some spring cleaning and not sure what to do with your stuff? The class explores the basics and helps the beginner get started on eBay. Topics include setting up an account, creating listings, the importance of photos, understanding fees and closing the sale. This one-day class is offered twice. The first class meets Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Building M, Room M210. The cost is $25. Registration is required; the course code for this class is MC4-385-200. This second class meets Wednesday, April 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Building M, Room M210. The cost is $25. Registration is required; the course code for this class is MC4-385-201.

Learn How to Edit Photos on Your Smart Phone -- Don’t rely on Instagram or Facebook for making the perfect photo filter; you can do it yourself. The class shows you the power of editing photos using just a few apps. You’ll learn how to use tools like exposure, sharpening, saturation, white balance, and more. This one-day class is offered twice. The first class meets Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Building M, Room M208. The cost is $25. Registration is required; the course code for this class is PH4-302-200. This course is also offered Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in Building M, Room M208. The cost is $25. Registration is required; the course code for this class is PH4-302-201.

Bitcoin and Blockchain Overview -- You’ve heard the words “bitcoin” and “blockchain” on the news or amongst friends, but what are they? This class provides an in-depth understanding of what bitcoin is and how to manage a blockchain. Topics include legalities regarding bitcoin, the universe of crypt-assets and bitcoin wallets. This one-day class meets Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Building T, Room T002. The cost is $29. Registration is required; the course code for this class is NT4‑101‑200.

Introduction to Project Management -- A project manager plans, executes and controls a project in order to achieve specific goals and get the project completed in a timely manner. The Introduction to Project Management course teaches you the fundamentals of project management. This one-day class is offered twice. The first class is Thursday, Feb. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Building M, Room M210. The cost is $50. Registration is required; the course code for this class is MP5-160-200. The second class is offered Tuesday, Apr. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30p.m. in Building M, Room M210. The cost is $50. Registration is required; the course code for this class is MP5-160-201.
