LW School District-Woodman's Land Deal In Tinley Delayed Again

The school board extended the due diligence period for the sale of the property at 191st Street and Harlem Avenue.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The sale of a piece of Tinley Park land owned by Lincoln-Way High School District 210 to Woodman's Market has been delayed again, the Daily Southtown reports. The due diligence period for the property deal with the Wisconsin-based grocery store chain was extended by the school board during Thursday's meeting, the report stated. The new deadline is March 6.

In June, the board unanimously approved the sale of 71.9 acres at 191st Street and Harlem Avenue for $4.6 million. But the deal had been delayed two other times, and the previous deadline had been Dec. 15, the Southtown reports.

The extension comes after Woodman's asked to drop the sale price to $3.6 million, the report stated. But altering the price would require starting the bidding process again, and the grocery chain will see if it can gain possible incentives from the Village of Tinley Park, the report added.

The Tinley Park property was one of three sites the school district accepted bids on in February. D210 Supt. Scott Tingley said he hopes to complete the sale with Woodman's before the end of this fiscal year, according to the Southtown.
