Tinley Park To Host Virtual Memorial Day
The event will be streamed on Facebook May 25 from Veterans Plaza, which will be closed to the public.
The Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park Veterans Commission will host a virtual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25. While the ceremony will be held at Veterans Plaza as usual, it will be closed to the public. Residents can instead participate virtually by watching live on Facebook. The ceremony will also be presented after the fact on the Village’s YouTube channel at TinleyPark.org/YouTube and on Tinley TV, which broadcasts on Comcast Channel 4 and U-verse Channel 99.
As in years past, the ceremony will include the posting of colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, guest speakers, a Battlefield Cross ceremony, a wreath presentation in memory of all fallen veterans, a flag ceremony and the announcement of new paver bricks added to the Veterans Walkway. Please join us in the virtual world and honor Tinley Park’s heroes from home!
