Police were able to find the woman after her family said she threatened to run into traffic, officials said.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A woman was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for treatment Thursday after police responded to reports of a woman suffering from a mental health crisis along the I-80 corridor, officials said.

Police were dispatched around 11:30 p.m., and learned from family members that the woman had threatened to intentionally run into traffic. Officials say family members were communicating with the woman, and learned she was lying in the grass somewhere north of I-80.

Officers established a perimeter and found the woman hiding in nearby bushes, and she "made multiple statements indicating that she wanted to end her life," police said.
