Winning $16M Lottery Ticket Sold In Vernon Hills

VERNON HILLS — If you bought a Lotto ticket in Vernon Hills, you may want to check it. A convenience store located in Vernon Hills sold a $16 million winning Lotto ticket in the Monday, Dec. 30, evening drawing.

The winning ticket was purchased at Bucky’s Convenience Stores, 294 E. Townline Road, in Vernon Hills and matched all six numbers – 01 - 03 - 06 - 09 - 17 - 23 – to win the jackpot, according to a news release. The retailer will receive a bonus of $160,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket, according to a news release.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they either call the player hotline at 1-800-252-1775 or visit one of the Lottery’s five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize

More than 97,800 other prizes, ranging from $1 to $650, were won in this Lotto drawing. In all, players won $16,224,800 in this drawing.
