CCU Hosts Free Seminar: "Home Staging Basics From a Pro"

Vernon Hills, IL, March 17, 2015: Selling a new home can be a challenging process, especially for those selling their homes for the first time. Many savvy homeowners now turn to a professional to help assure they get the most value for their home. That’s why Consumers Credit Union (CCU, $650 Million, Waukegan, IL) is proud to offer it’s free workshop, “Home Staging Basics From a Pro,” on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Keylime Cove Resort – Gurnee IL. This no-cost seminar is open to the public, and includes vital information on the steps needed to assure sellers get a fair price for their homes.

“Selling a home in today’s real estate market can quite a daunting experience,” said Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President/CEO. “Even though home prices are recovering from the recent dip, we’re still very much in a ‘buyers’ market.’ While most sellers are very clear on what makes a house a ‘home’ in their eyes, they are often unsure how to make their property more attractive to potential buyers. We’re excited to offer a workshop that focuses on the staging and selling experience, offering attendees the opportunity to learn best practices on how to generate a fair offer from those planning to purchase a new home.”

Tara Quinn, owner of QUINNtessential Staging & Design, and Chris Mostyn, a Senior Account Executive of Brook Furniture, will lead the workshop, offering helpful tips on how to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that will attract potential buyers to properties. Tara has insights gathered from her 10 years of experience in the home staging and presentation field. Working with Brook Furniture for more than 6 years, Chris has a unique understanding of what it takes to effectively stage a home at little to no expense for the seller. The seminar also features Gil Chavez, Director of CCU’s Mortgage Department, who will be on-hand to discuss financing options and to provide other important information for those planning to sell their homes.

“Home Staging Basics From a Pro” is open to the public and credit union Members at no charge on Wednesday April 8, 2015, at the Holiday Inn in Gurnee, IL, starting at 6:00pm.
