Kiva Community Workshop Series Presents: Family Addiction/Family Recovery

On February 3 at 7-8 pm, Kiva Recovery will be host “Family Addiction/Family Recovery” --- a free workshop. The event will take place At Kiva Recovery: 935 Lakeview Parkway, Suite 101 in Vernon Hills.

This workshop will:

• Assist participants in gaining an enhanced understanding of addiction and the tools necessary to begin a recovery process,

• Allow family members and significant others affected by addiction to form the foundation supportive of their own healing,

• Empower those exposed to addiction (family, friends, professionals) to increase their awareness of the beliefs that shape unhealthy behaviors in order to develop healthier ways of coping with addiction and relationships, and

• Reinforce each participant’s understanding of their responsibility going forward: That they cannot control addiction, that they did not cause addiction, and that they cannot cure addiction, yet they can heal from their exposure to addiction.
