Kiva Recovery Community Workshop Series Presents: 12 Step Language for The 21st Century

When talking about addiction recovery, AA’s 12 Step program is typically top of mind. But it’s important to remember that many in recovery may be unbelievers, freethinkers and unconventionally spiritual. Which is why equal consideration needs to be given to other recovery ideas that support a person’s multicultural views, such as smart recovery, celebrate recovery, or philosophical, religious, or agnostic approaches.

Kiva Recovery’s upcoming workshop, 12 Step Language for the 21st Century, will examine the evolution of 12 Step language styles over the past 80 years and how each new fellowship tells the age old story in a contemporary narrative.

This workshop will be moderated by Joe C. who’s been clean and sober since 1976. The author of “Beyond Belief: Agnostic Musings for 12 Step Life,” Joe C. is an accomplished author/radio host/writer/musician.

Addiction characterizes a mindset that easily finds barriers and obstacles to engaging in treatment and recovery interventions.
