The Park District will begin demolition of the Century Park playground located near the cricket pitch on August 9. Construction fencing will be installed. The new playground installation will begin August 16. The installation of the synthetic turf playground surfacing will begin August 23. The new playground is scheduled to reopen by Labor Day weekend. The aforementioned timeline does not account for inclement weather which may affect dates. Renderings of the playground can be found on the Century Park web page.
