$1,600 Theft, Fraudulent Charges: Western Springs Cops

Cases of liquor were reported stolen from a store, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs police released their latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A person used a cart to steal five cases of alcohol valued at more than $1,600 Tuesday from Mariano's, 4700 Gilbert Ave.
  • A resident in the 4500 block of Clausen Avenue reported Tuesday that fraudulent charges of more than $10,000 were made on her business account.
  • A resident in the 4300 block of Woodland Avenue told police Thursday that a fraudulent bank account was opened in her name at Citibank.
  • Jewelry and other items were reported stolen from a house Tuesday in the 4300 block of Western Avenue. Forced entry was made through a side door. The owner was not in the house at the time.
