3rd 'Swatting' Call At LTHS South Campus
The school said it is cooperating with police in the investigation.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A third "swatting" call in a month was made Thursday morning involving Lyons Township High School's South Campus, authorities said.
About 10 a.m., South Campus' main office received a call from a person threatening violence against the school, the school said.
Western Springs police were immediately notified, and the school held a "soft lockdown," which means classes continued but were secured. North Campus was unaffected.

Western Springs police checked the campus and issued an "all clear." The lockdown ended a half hour later.
A swatting incident is defined as making a prank call in an attempt to dispatch emergency personnel to a particular address.

The other swatting calls were April 2 and April 22.
Western Springs police plan an increased officer presence at South Campus throughout the day.
The school said it is working closely with police in the investigation of the calls.
"We are grateful to our community for their support through these concerning ‘pranks,'" Superintendent Brian Waterman said in a statement.
