Bike Thefts On Rise In Western Springs: Cops
All of this month's thefts have been during a select part of the day.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Bicycle thefts are on the increase in Western Springs, police said Monday.
All the recent thefts have been between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., police said.
The police gave details on the bike thefts:

- June 3: Stolen from inside an open residential garage in the 3900 block of Forest Avenue.
- June 12: Stolen from a residential driveway in the 4100 block of Woodland Avenue.
- June 12: Stolen from a city bicycle rack near Lawn and Hillgrove avenues.
- June 23: With its lock cut, the bike was stolen from a city bicycle rack near Burlington and Grand avenues. The bike was worth $600.
- June 24: With its lock cut, the bike was stolen from a city bicycle rack near Lawn and Hillgrove avenues. The bike was worth $750.
Police ask that people keep bicycles inside, if possible. If bikes are outside, they should be locked up and attached to a fixed object, even if for a short time, police said.
