WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs released its latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Car theft

  • A car was stolen overnight Tuesday from a driveway in the 4200 block of Woodland Avenue. The keys were in the vehicle.

Car burglaries

  • A car in the 3900 block of Grove Avenue was burglarized overnight Tuesday. Two phone charging cables were stolen.
  • An unlocked car in the 3900 block of Forest Avenue was burglarized overnight Tuesday. Two gas station credit cards and $15 in cash were stolen.

Theft

  • Three boys took electronic vapor cigarettes Saturday at Mobil gas station, 5500 Wolf Road.
  • A resident in the 4300 block of Central Avenue told police Tuesday that she lost her wallet while visiting Starbucks. She was later notified by her bank of suspicious charges that had been made on her debit and credit cards.

Damage

  • A person in the 4000 block of Lawn Avenue told police Tuesday that his work vehicle was struck on the driver's side rear quarter panel while parked in the street.
  • The driver's side door panel of a car was struck Friday at the post office, 4479 Lawn Ave.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 200 block of 53rd Street told police Wednesday that her business account was fraudulently accessed. An attempt was made to withdraw money from it.

Driving violations

  • Steven R. Hart, 60, of Brookfield, was cited about 3:30 p.m. April 25 in the 600 block of Rugeley Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. According to police, Hart struck a parked car without stopping. He was released on bond.
