Major Damage To Western Springs House: Village

No one suffered injuries in fire, with the occupants making it safely out of the home, the fire department said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A fire caused significant damage Wednesday to a Western Springs house, but no one suffered any injuries, authorities said.

Shortly after 2 p.m., firefighters were called to the fire at the split-level home at 1019 Longmeadow Lane. The entire back of the house was in flames, extending into the attic, according to a fire department news release.

The fire department immediately asked for help from nearby towns.

Firefighters ensured all the occupants were safely out of the home, then they entered, encountering heavy smoke and fire, the release said.

Neighboring homes were unaffected, the fire department said. The house borders Ridgewood Park.

The fire's cause has not been determined.
