The couple told police the driver pulled out a hammer and struck the palm of her hand, saying, "Someone is going to get hurt if I have to come back."

The woman then left.

She was driving an SUV and described as white and in her late 20s, police said. She referred to an odometer, an instrument that measures a car's total miles traveled. But she likely meant her speedometer was broken.

The man and the woman walking were 62 and 57, respectively, according to the report.

Police listed the incident as a simple assault.
