You’re probably not alone if you do. The village was recently named the No. 2 safest, most peaceful place to live in Illinois, according to a ranking by OnlyInYourState.com.

Western Springs is an affluent Chicago suburb that is historic and has all the tree-lined charm you could want. If you take the Metra, you might know it by the beautiful brick and limestone water tower. You can rest assured the police will take good care of you here.

Lake Forest came out on top of the safe place list. Western Springs was followed by No. 3 Waterloo, No. 4 Winfield and No. 5 Hawthorn Woods.
